Compatibility
Each remote control system manufacturer uses a unique security code protocol,
therefore these transmitters can only be used with the specific make &
model
of equipment for which they were intended and will not be compatible with any
other make of remote control system even if the radio frequency is the same |
Radio
frequency
The Marantec 'Digital' remote control system was originally introduced on 418Mhz,
production switched over to the 433Mhz frequency during mid 2000, a new 868Mhz system was introduced in 2004,
the operating frequency is identified on the back of the keyfob and on the receiver module casing
Security
Coding
If you have an existing (working) remote control transmitter, the
unique security code can be 'cloned' from an original
transmitter using the
special
programming cable and instructions enclosed with each handset. If
you no longer have a 'working' transmitter a new transmitter
must be programmed by following the procedure in the
users instruction manual supplied with your Marantec door
operator. Copies can be downloaded from the
Marantec
website

Older Marantec comfort series operators had large 27Mhz handheld remote control transmitters,
these had a ten way DIP switch inside the battery compartment to enable the security code to be set, these
systems require an upgrade kit
Note: Some garage door distributors supplied an alternative brand of radio control system with Marantec operators so you may see your handset pictured on our main
handsets webpage |
